Building Principal Include the criteria for participation in the student handbook.
Teaching Faculty Upon request, notify the principal or designee of any students who should not be eligible based on the criteria outlined in the student handbook.
Building Principal or Designee For any student who does not meet eligibility criteria, convene appropriate staff to develop an action plan for the student. This plan must include approaches to remediate academic or civic performance, responsible staff, measurement of progress, and a timeline for becoming eligible.
Student In order to be eligible to participate, each student must demonstrate good school citizenship and individual character.

Building Principal Include the minimum academic criteria for participation in the student handbook.At the end of each grade-reporting period, arrange for all coaches and sponsors to have access to their student-participants’ grades and grade point averages
Teaching Faculty Upon request, notify the athletic director or sponsor of any students who have failing grades.

Before allowing a student to join an extracurricular activity, ensure that the student meets the academic criteria by reviewing previous semester grades.At the end of each grade-reporting period, determine whether any student(s) failed to meet the academic criteria.For any student who fails to meet the academic criteria:

Determine how long the student will be suspended from the activity; explain to the student the reason for the suspension; send a notice of the suspension to the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s). Students may participate in practices at the discretion of the coach or sponsor.

For any student suspended for not meeting the academic criteria:

At the end of the suspension, determine whether the student now meets the District’s academic criteria. If so, notify the student and the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) that the student is now eligible to participate.  If the student does not meet these criteria, notify the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) that the student will remain ineligible to participate until the student meets the academic criteria.

Student In order to be eligible to participate, maintain a passing grade in all current classes.
