Supporting Those At Risk
BPS101, the kindergarten faculty, and staff of the STAR program are committed to the long-term success of students through growth in language development, learning readiness, social and behavioral skills, early literacy, early numeracy, and gross and fine motor development.
While some children are able to develop in a half-day Kindergarten environment, other children need more time with specialized activities and support to be ready for the first grade experience. These children are enrolled in the STAR program only after an in-depth screening and intervention process indicates they need more time in school while engaged in learning to be successful.
