8:020-AP1 Categories and Priorities for Community Use of School Facilities
Rental and use of school facilities shall not (1) interfere with any school function or affect the safety of students or employees, or (2) affect the property or liability of the School District.
The Superintendent or designee is authorized to negotiate multi-year contracts with renters for discounted rates, bartered services, donations, or pledges when in the District’s best interest, subject to Board approval.
The rental and use of school facilities shall be categorized and prioritized as follows:
Category 1 – Affiliate Organizations
Affiliate organizations are non-profits whose sole purpose is to support the District and its programs and are officially recognized by the Board policy 8:090 (Parent Organizations and Booster Clubs). Examples include:
Booster Clubs
School PTOs
Category 2 – Partner Organizations
Partner organizations are non-profits that predominantly serve the constituents of the District. Examples include:
Other local governmental units (Batavia Park District, Batavia Library District, City of Batavia)
