4th Grade Gives Back While Having Fun!
Before we head out for Winter Break, we wanted to give you one more feel-good🥰 Student Spotlight 📣 When BHS freshman Lexi K. was in 4th grade at Grace McWayne Elementary School, her grandparents gifted her with $100 to give back to a charity in need, she decided to make the money go to fabric to make blankets for families at the Ronald McDonald house. This tradition has continued for years at Grace McWayne, morphing into Winter Carnival! Instead of teacher gifts, students are encouraged to bring in donations. Teachers pick three charities- one local, one national, and one international. Students enjoy carnival games, win tickets, and put tickets in the bucket of the charity they’d like to receive the donations. The charity with the most tickets wins and will receive $800 this year! Giving generously while having fun spreads holiday happiness!
