19: Visitors, Volunteers, and Observations
Our schools value family and community involvement while protecting student safety, instructional time, and student privacy.
Visitors must:
- Report to the main office.
- Receive permission to remain on school property.
- Sign in and show identification when requested
- Wear a visitor badge.
- Follow staff directions.
- Sign out before leaving.
Conferences with staff must be arranged in advance.
Requests to visit, volunteer, observe, or participate in school activities must be prearranged and approved consistent with Board policy and school procedures.
Requests to observe, assess, or access a student, classroom, educational program, or student service for purposes related to a student’s educational, psychological, social-emotional, disability, or support needs must be prearranged through the appropriate school administrator and handled consistent with Board Policy 7:250, student privacy laws, and applicable procedures.
Students may not bring visitors to school unless the visit is approved in advance by administration for a school-related purpose.
Deliveries from outside vendors, including flowers, balloons, fast food, or similar items, are not accepted.
Principals or other school officials may deny, limit, reschedule, or end a visit, volunteer activity, or observation when necessary to protect safety, privacy, instruction, confidentiality, or school operations.
