Purpose
This procedure records the specific District locations authorized by the Board of Education for advertising and donor recognition displays under Board Policy 8:025. It supplements 8:025-AP3 (Advertising and Donor Recognition), which governs approval, content, and oversight of all advertisements.
Scope
- Applies only to advertisements and donor recognitions displayed on District property.
- Board approval is required for all physical locations; administrative approval applies to other venues (e.g., programs, student media).
- This procedure shall be updated as new locations are approved by the Board.
Board-Approved Advertising and Donor Recognition Locations
- Batavia High School Stadium Digital Scoreboard
- Location: Bulldog Stadium, home-side digital scoreboard.
- Authorized Use: Rotating sponsor messages, donor recognitions, and event promotions during athletic contests and other events.
- Athletic Field Fencing
- Locations:
- BHS Baseball and Softball outfield fences.
- BHS Soccer field perimeter fencing.
- BHS Stadium perimeter fencing (football/track).
- Authorized Use: Banner displays recognizing local business sponsors or community organizations.
- Locations:
- Indoor Gymnasium Signage
- Locations:
- BHS Main Gymnasium walls (designated banner zones).
- Rotolo Middle School Gymnasium (north wall banner zone).
- Authorized Use: Sponsor or donor recognition banners tied to athletics and student activities.
- Locations:
- Other Donor Recognition Displays
- Locations:
- Commemorative plaques, boards, or similar displays in school buildings as approved by the Board.
- Authorized Use: Recognition of donors to facilities, programs, or capital projects.
- Locations:
Conditions
- All advertisements must comply with Policy 8:025 and AP3, including content restrictions (no alcohol, tobacco, partisan political, religious, obscene, or disruptive content).
- The Superintendent or designee retains authority to approve or rescind specific advertisements under these guidelines.
- All signage must comply with local ordinances. Outdoor advertising must face inward toward District property and not toward public streets.
Any new advertising or donor recognition location not listed above must be brought to the Board for approval before implementation.
