Hello BPS101 Families-
This week we have information to share on the start of SHIELD IL COVID Screening, masks, and Bulldog Spirit Wear.
SHIELD IL COVID Screening
This week, the District began screening testing for students who have opted into the program, which is being offered through a partnership with SHIELD Illinois. The screening testing was offered to elementary-age students who are not currently eligible for the vaccine, and a portion of those students were tested this week. Not all students were screened this week due to timing issues. Now that we have one week of testing experience, the SHIELD Committee will be revisiting the process to increase efficiency, privacy, and the reduction of interruption in instructional time. The screening will continue one day per week at each elementary school for those who have opted in.
If you were opted in and would like to opt-out, please submit your request, with the student’s name to help@bps101.net.
If you have an elementary school-age child, you can review these resources to understand the process. Your child may have questions about the testing, even if they are not participating.
Face Coverings
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to be under a mask mandate from Governor Pritzker’s office. A gentle reminder, please send your child with a mask and consider sending a backup mask. The District’s supply of masks is limited, and we would like to reserve them for the rare instances when a student forgets a mask at home or loses it on the playground.
Bulldog Spirit Wear
The Batavia Varsity Bulldog Football Team is in the playoffs! If you want to celebrate by purchasing new Bulldog Spirit Wear before the game this Friday night, we will have the BHS school store open this Friday from 3-6:30 pm here at BHS. Because of the potential weather, we will keep the gear inside, not out at the Football game. We will have beanie hats, sweatshirts (both zip and crew), t-shirts, wooden bulldogs, and various items available. People may enter BHS off of Main Street by the Atrium. We will direct you to the store. There is a limited supply so first come, first look, first buy, on the items we have available.
