Public Hearing on Health/Life Safety Bonds
At its October 20 meeting, the Board of Education discussed funding options for remaining Warm, Safe, Dry projects. Options include existing District reserves, operating funds, and potentially Health/Life Safety (HLS) bonds. HLS bonds may fund specific state-approved building improvements and would be repaid through property taxes.
The Board directed administration to plan for a potential bond issuance, including a required public hearing at its November 17, 2026 Board meeting. No final decision to issue bonds has been made.
The hearing will allow community members to learn about the proposed financing and offer public comment before further Board action. The Board meeting agenda will include hearing details and materials.
