Accessibility Statement

Batavia Public School District 101 is committed to accessible digital services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II. Our web content and mobile apps are being brought into conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We also target WCAG 2.2 AA as our improvement benchmark.

Scope

This statement covers content on bps101.net and school subdomains. Third-party platforms we link to have their own policies. We review vendors for accessibility and request conformance information (such as VPATs).

How to Get Help

  • Report an accessibility issue or request an alternative format: Email help@bps101.net or call (630) 937-8800. Please include the page URL and describe the problem or the format you need.

Feedback and Timelines

We acknowledge reports within 2 business days and aim to resolve issues or provide an accessible alternative within 10 business days, depending on complexity.

Known Exceptions

Certain legacy documents, archived content, and third-party embedded tools may fall under limited exceptions. When an exception applies, we will provide an accessible alternative on request.

Our Standards and Testing

  • Primary standard: WCAG 2.1 AA; improvement target: WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • We test keyboard-only navigation, color contrast, forms, page structure, and media captions/descriptions using both automated checks and assistive-technology spot checks.

Documents and Media

  • Documents: New and updated PDFs and office files will meet accessibility requirements; high-impact legacy documents are being remediated on a rolling basis.

  • Video/Audio: New public videos include captions; long-form or instructional media include transcripts. Audio-only content includes transcripts.

Procurement

Digital tools and content procured by the District are expected to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We request accessibility documentation (such as VPATs) and evaluate known gaps.

Grievance and Enforcement

If you believe your ADA rights are not being met after contacting us, you may use the District’s grievance process or file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights.
