03: School Calendar and Schedules

BPS101 publishes a school calendar each year with the first and last days of school, holidays, early dismissals, and teacher institute days. Families should plan vacations and appointments around the school calendar to minimize absences. Each school provides its own daily schedule and communicates special events through newsletters, websites, and online calendars.

Policy / Legal Requirements

The school calendar is set annually by the Board of Education in compliance with the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-19).
The District must provide the state-required minimum number of student attendance days.
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that students attend according to the published calendar.
