BATV (Batavia TV) is a local broadcast, cable access production team.  They cover local events and important meetings in Batavia, IL.  BATV Broadcasts all Batavia Public School Board Meetings.  BATV asks a member of BPS administration to quickly brief the community of what is happening and what has happened between the Board Meetings.  This gives the community a quick synopsis of where BPS101 is headed.

Board Committees

Committees


There are two committees, Policy and Finance.  They are headed by board members and are responsible for working with administration collaboratively to solve problems and set the direction.

The Board of Education oversees the general operations of the District which includes: authorizing budgets and expenditures; hiring administration, faculty and staff; approving curriculum; and adopting policy. The Board consists of seven voting members, duly elected by the citizens of Batavia Public School District 101 every other spring (odd years). Members serve a four year term.

Board Policy


Board of Education governance requires written policies. Written policies ensure legal compliance, establish board processes, articulate District ends, delegate authority, and define operating limits. Board policies also provide the process for monitoring progress toward District ends.

School Board Meetings


The Board of Education is responsible for the educational programs for grades kindergarten through 12. The Board’s job is to adopt goals and policies that meet state requirements and reflect community needs; provide the resources necessary to pursue its goals according to its policies; and monitor district performance to see that results are consistent with goals and policies.
