Veterans Day Ceremonies Across BPS101
Schools across the District welcomed family members and local veterans to Veterans Day Ceremonies on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Veterans representing the Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force attended and shared reflections on their time in service. Speaking about their experiences around the world, both in wartime and in peacetime, many emphasized the importance of teamwork. “To go fast, go by yourself. To go far, go together,” one veteran reminded students.
At RMS, the 8th grade bands and chorus performed renditions of the National Anthem and the official songs of a different military branch, filling the gym with pride and patriotism.
The ceremony at GMS concluded with a rousing rendition of “God Bless America,” as students and staff waved American flags in celebration and gratitude for the nation’s veterans.
