Fan Expectations Reminder
To the Bulldog Community, Parents, and Students:
As we gear up for another exciting football playoff run, it’s important to remember the impact our behavior can have on the game, the players, and the overall atmosphere. Students of Batavia High School have equal rights to seating in the stands (home or away) as do parents or community members. Students are allowed to stand, cheer, and be excited for their classmates. To ensure that our sporting events are enjoyable for everyone, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Do not call out players by name or number: It’s important to support our team positively without singling out individual players or making them feel pressured.
- No swearing: Let’s keep our language respectful and appropriate for all ages.
- No booing or yelling at opposing players: While it’s natural to get caught up in the excitement of the game, remember to show sportsmanship towards all players, including those on the opposing team.
- No booing or yelling at referees: Referees play a crucial role in ensuring fair play. Even if you disagree with a call, show respect for their position and decisions.
- Only cheer for our team or good plays by either team: Positive reinforcement goes a long way in creating a supportive and uplifting environment.
- All cheers or chants must be appropriate: Let’s keep our cheers and chants positive, encouraging, and free from any offensive language or gestures.
- Public Intoxication is Prohibited: Please review the Board Policy on Spectator Conduct.
By following these guidelines, we can create a positive, inclusive atmosphere at our sporting events where everyone feels welcome and respected. Any violation of these guidelines can result in immediate removal from the game and potential suspension for future games.
