The following commemorative holidays will be placed on the District calendar for all staff members to view:
- First Full Week of January – Emancipation Proclamation Week
- January 28 – Christa McAuliffe Day
- February 6 – Ronald Reagan Day
- February 15 – Susan B. Anthony Day
- March 25 – Day of Remembrance of the victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
- March 29 – Viet Nam War Veteran’s Day
- Last Friday of April – Arbor and Bird Day
- First Full Week of School in May – Illinois Law Week
- Third Thursday in May – Volunteer Emergency Responder Appreciate Day
- Any School day in May – “Just Say No” Day
- Second Wednesday in May – Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke Day
- September 11 – Day of Remembrance
- Fourth Friday of September – American Indian Day
- October 1 – Recycling Day
- October 7 – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Remembrance Day
- October 9 – Leif Erickson Day
- November 10 – (or the school day preceding Veteran’s Day) – Korean War Veteran’s Day
- December 7 – Pearl Harbor Veteran’s Day
