Buildings and Grounds

Buildings & Grounds


Buildings and Grounds oversee the 9 district sites and 1 million square feet of school facilities.  Responsibilities include: school safety & security, building & ground maintenance, construction management, pickup & deliveries, transportation, fee waivers, payment plans, free & reduced lunch, student incident insurance, legal notices, and food service.


Curriculum & Instruction


Curriculum and Instruction advances the knowledge and professional practice in teaching and learning for Batavia Public Schools.  The principal work of the Curriculum and Instruction Division is to assist teachers in facilitating exceptional academic and social progress for each and every student in the Batavia Public Schools.


Finance and Business Office


The business office handles all of the financial transactions for the school district including financial reporting, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, employee benefits and staff attendance and is responsible for the development and administration of the school district’s budget.



 



 


Human Resources


Human Services Department focuses on the recruitment, support and continuous learning of all employees.  In addition, Human Resources assists employees with issues related to payroll, performance, safety, wellness, benefits, communication and training.


School Counselors


School Counselors work with families, students & school staff to support students in the areas of academic achievement, social-emotional development and career readiness.

Student Services


Student Services coordinates the support of special education programs.


Superintendent

Superintendent


The Superintendent’s Office is a liaison between the community and the Board of Education.  The Board of Education approves the vision, mission, goals and policies for the district.  The Superintendent is responsible for carrying out the vision, mission, goals and policies of the Board of Education as the day-to-day operating officer of the Batavia Schools.  The Superintendent develops action plans, regulations and procedures or the means for achieving the end results for the Board of Education.  In addition, the Superintendent services as the Board of Education Secretary and his administrative assistant is the recording secretary for Board meeting minutes.


Technology


The Division of Technology consists of three departments and supports over 2,200 computers, more than 6,500 devices and 90+ servers.  With 16 full and part-time staff members, the Division supports 6,200+ students and more than 700 employees.
