At the regular Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 2 additional administrative changes for 2012-13 school year were approved.
Lisa Palese, currently the Assistant Director of Student Services, will be transferred to the Rotolo Middle School Student Services Division Coordinator effective July 1, 2012. Lisa said, “She is thrilled to return to Rotolo Middle School.” Her responsibilities will include the supervision and appraisal of special education staff, counselors and related services.
Melissa Kaczkowski, currently the principal at J.B. Nelson Elementary School, we be the Assistant Director of Student Services effective July 1, 2012. Melissa said, “It will be hard to leave my team at JBN, but leading the elementary student services team is a very exciting opportunity.” Melissa has served for 6 years as Principal at J.B. Nelson.
Administrative assignments use the strengths of Batavia Public Schools administrative team to build capacity for new State and Federal mandates that begin during the 2012-2013 school year. The Board of Education and Superintendent Barshinger understand that change is difficult, especially leadership changes. Batavia Public Schools are extremely fortunate to have the depth of leadership to support this change process. The early notice of these changes will provide ample time for transition and time to fill new vacancies. Associate Superintendent Greg Romaneck will begin the selection process of a new principal with the J.B. Nelson staff and parents immediately.
