8:020-AP1 Categories and Priorities for Community Use of School Facilities

Rental and use of school facilities shall not (1) interfere with any school function or affect the safety of students or employees, or (2) affect the property or liability of the School District.

The Superintendent or designee is authorized to negotiate multi-year contracts with renters for discounted rates, bartered services, donations, or pledges when in the District’s best interest, subject to Board approval.

The rental and use of school facilities shall be categorized and prioritized as follows:

Category 1 – Affiliate Organizations

Affiliate organizations are non-profits whose sole purpose is to support the District and its programs and are officially recognized by the Board policy 8:090 (Parent Organizations and Booster Clubs).  Examples include:

  • Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence
  • Batavia Athletic Boosters
  • Batavia Music Buffs
  • STAGE
  • School PTOs

Category 2 – Partner Organizations

Partner organizations are non-profits that predominantly serve the constituents of the District.  Examples include:

  • Other local governmental units (Batavia Park District, Batavia Library District, City of Batavia)
  • Batavia Activity and Athletic Foundation
  • Chip-In
  • Batavia Feeder Basketball
  • Batavia Youth Football
  • Batavia Youth Baseball
  • Boy Scouts
  • Girl Scouts

Category 3 – Other Users and Organizations

  • All other users and organizations
