5:300 Schedules and Employment Year

Employment Periods

Office personnel employed twelve months shall have a work schedule which commences on July 1 and ends on June 30 of each fiscal year.

Custodial and maintenance personnel employed twelve months shall have a work schedule which commences on July 1 and ends on June 30 of each fiscal year.

Hours of Work

Hours of work shall be determined by the needs of the assignment. The employee will be notified of the hours in accordance with the negotiated agreements.

Summer Schedule

For economy and efficient work procedure, custodians from all schools may be grouped into summer maintenance crews with a crew leader in charge. Work shall be scheduled in any or all schools.

Office personnel will be used as deemed necessary by Building Principals.  Seasonal staff and summer staff will be assigned work hours.

9 and 10-Month Work Year

Please refer to the current “Negotiated Agreement between the Board of Education and the Batavia Education Support Professional Association.”

Hourly Employees

Work as needed and approved by immediate supervisor.

Supervisory Staff

The work day and work year for supervisory staff shall be as prescribed by the Board except that supervisory personnel are employed for specific tasks and such personnel are expected to work beyond the regular work day in order to accomplish such tasks when necessary.  No additional remuneration shall be provided for exempt supervisory staff.
