Food Service Contractor
Batavia Public Schools currently uses Sodexo as our food services contractor. Parents have the option of viewing lunch menus offered to our students by visiting our district website of www.bps101.net.
- Click For Parents and then Lunch Menu (click on link to the left to be directed to webpage).
- The parent/guardian will then be required to select USA utilizing the drop-down menu provided.
- They should then choose Public K-12 Schools Districts.
- Finally, please identify Illinois as our state and Batavia Public SD then click OK.
ParentOnline
Batavia Public Schools strongly recommends that all parents/guardians utilize ParentOnline by opening their internet browser and going to www.parentonline.net. This free feature is very helpful for parents in answering questions they may have concerning their child(ren)’s lunch account. After creating a ParentOnline Account parents are able to add money to their child’s cafeteria account, sign up for a low balance alert, sign up for automatic payment, view their transaction/account history, etc.
IOU Lunch Process
Effective April 4, 2011, Batavia Public Schools established an IOU Lunch Process for our schools. Once a week an IOU Slip will be sent home as backpack mail with all elementary-aged students if they have accrued a negative cafeteria balance up to $9.99. Any student who reaches a negative balance of $10.00 or more will only receive a Sunbutter and Jelly Sandwich on wheat bread, white milk and fruit. Additionally, one letter will be mailed to their home address by their school office. The parent/guardian will have (10) business days to make payment and should pay the most accurate balance as presented on their ParentOnline Account. If payment has not been made within (10) business days, one final letter will be mailed to their home address from our Administration Office. This letter will state the parent/guardian has (10) business days to make payment otherwise a $9.99 fee will be added to their student’s balance for the cost of collections and that balance will be sent to our collections agency.
Household Eligibility Applications
Household Eligibility (Free/Reduced-Price Meals) Applications are available four (4) calendar weeks prior to the first school day of each year. Households have the option of applying and submitting an online application at www.bps101.net or picking up an application at any District 101 building. All applications should be returned to our Rosalie M. Jones Administration Center so they can be reviewed and approved by our Business Office. Once reviewed, a letter will be mailed home notifying the family of their approval/denial for free or reduced-price meals.
