Spelling Bee. The spelling Bee has started for 4th and 5th graders. We will have preliminary rounds this week with the final round scheduled for January 19th.
McDonald’s Night. Thursday, January 5th is HWS McDonald’s Night. Raise money for the HWS PTO while feeding the family at McDonald’s. McDonald’s will give a percentage of their receipts to HWS PTO for that night.
Parent University. Saturday, January 28th Parent University 9-noon at Batavia High School. The morning will be filled with informative speakers on a variety of issues that impact parents. The program includes a keynote presentation and your choice of a breakout session. This free event is sponsored by the elementary PTOs and donations from the Batavia Foundation. Student Council. We will be starting student council by the end of this month. There will be two officer positions at the 5th grade level and two representatives from each classroom 3rd -5th grades. The officer elections will take place next week and the representative elections will take place the week after. If your child is interested, the application requires a parent signature. We will meet 6 times this year in the mornings at 8:45.
Clothing Sale. The HWS PTO is accepting clothing and toy donations for our Clothing Sale. Just drop off in the Hoover-Wood office or contact Danjenross@sbcglobal.net A good way to clear out your closets after the Holiday break, while helping out your school and community.
Early Childhood Screening. Do you have questions or concerns about your child’s development and they are between the ages of 2.5 and 5 years old? The early childhood center offers a screening for children in the district 2.5 to 5 years of age. To make an appointment call 630.937.8000.
