Building our future… Learning, Growing, Succeeding
Classroom assignment. Classroom assignments will be mailed August 13th.The assignment of your child to a classroom is a result of collaboration between classroom teachers (last year and this year), specialists, specials teachers, and parent input. Some of the many factors considered when placing students are academic levels, personalities, strengths, learning styles, and services. The ultimate goal is to set up a classroom with several different reading levels so a student has room to move and grow within the classroom and always have a cluster of reading level peers to receive small group reading instruction from the classroom teacher.
Ice Cream Social. August 23rdis the ice cream social at 5:45PM on the black top near the playground. Come see your old friends and have some ice cream treats served by our own Hoover – Wood teachers.
PTO Coffee. The first day of school the PTO invites you to the cafeteria to enjoy some conversation and some treats and coffee. Summer is officially over and you can chat about it with other parents while the kids get started in their classrooms.
Thanks. We have had a small group of parents slowly improving the look of Hoover-Wood one plant at a time. Thanks to our parent volunteers for braving the heat and mosquitoes to help make HWS a better place to learn, grow and succeed.
