Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be safe.
Be a Hawk.
Positive Behavior Intervention Supports: PBIS launch February 22, 2010!
Today we taught school-wide specific behaviors and expectations in the hallway, line up and on the stairs using our building-wide 3-B’s: Be respectful, Be responsible and Be safe. After students learned the expectations in these three areas, they had the opportunity to practice and use them. When a new skill is taught we will positively recognize students that are using the 3B’s in the targeted area by handing them a Hawk Hooray. The student puts their name on the Hawk Hooray and puts it into the classroom hawk nest. We use Hawk Hoorays to recognize students for positive behaviors specific to the targeted skill. You will notice the change in and around our school. We will continue to use observational checklists and Hawk Checks to determine our next targeted skills of behavior.
