Books vs. Badges.  Want to see your Principal and Mr. Chavez play basketball?  Batavia teachers will take on the Batavia police and fire departments in a basketball game to raise money for the Fourth of July fireworks fund.  6PM this Sunday at BHS.  Tickets are $4 per adult and $2 per student and are available in our office or at the game. http://www.bps101.net/files/2010-02-18.pdf
PBIS Training Monday.  Students will have 3 separate lessons to teach behaviors around the school.  There will be an assembly to kick off the new support for positive behavior system.  Ask your students about Hawk Hoorays, Hawk nests, and being Safe, Responsible and Respectful.
Fun fair.  Friday, February 26, from 5-8pm.  Games, prizes, food, and fun for all ages.
PTO News.  Proposed PTO board member nominations are on the PTO website.  Thanks to all that have offered their time to make Hoover – Wood a better place to learn, grow and succeed.
Jump Rope For Heart.  Volunteers check out the schedule and let Mr. Fink know your availability. 
Haiti Relief.  A couple of our 5thgraders have taken up a collection of dry goods, hygiene products, shoes, and first aid products to send to Haiti.  The project is in conjunction with the Illinois Math and Science Academyand collection boxes are in the classrooms.  Thanks for supporting our students in making a difference.
