Navigating the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process can be challenging. The Batavia Special Education Parent Network (BSPN) presents this session to equip the parents of special education students with strategies to effectively participate in the IEP process. In this presentation, parents will learn the basics of advocating for their children's special needs. There will be a discussion panel at the end of the presentation for participants and staff members to discuss navigating the educational process.
Boardmaker Make and Take Session

Is your special education student using Boardmaker visuals at school to help them communicate, learn or manage their behavior? Would you like to make some of your own Boardmaker visuals for use at home or in the community during this session? If so, please plan to attend! The basic features of Boardmaker will be presented and the session will include hands-on computer time. Beyond this session, you can access this software by visiting the Batavia Public Library. (If you are unsure if your student uses Boardmaker visuals at school, please contact his/her case manager.) eds. There will be a discussion panel at the end of the presentation for participants and staff members to discuss navigating the educational process.
