Access to Public Records of BPS101

Many public records for Batavia Public Schools are immediately available from our website www.bps101.net.  Full access to District’s records is available to any person as provided in the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.  A request for inspection or copies of public records must be made in writing and may be submitted by personal delivery, U.S. mail, fax (630-937-8801) or email to (information@bps101.net).  The Board of Education and Superintendent have appointed JoAnne Walker, Gayle Holan, Eileen Kibble, Kris Monn, Anton (Tony) Inglese, and Jack Barshinger as Freedom of Information Officers.  Individuals making a request are not required to state a reason for the request other than to identify when the request is for a commercial purpose or when requesting a fee waiver.

A Freedom of Information Officer will respond to information requests within 5 business days after the receipt of a request.  Inspection or copying of public records is subject to an approved access.  The Freedom of Information Officer may extend the time for a response for up to 5 additional business days if the person requesting information is notified of the reason for the delay or written agreement with the person requesting records is reached on a compliance period.

Any person making a request for copies of public records must pay an applicable coping fee ($0.35-$0.40 per page). No fees shall be charged for the first 50 pages of black and white, letter or legal copies. No fee will be charged for electronic copies other than the cost of the recording medium. The inspection of public records is permitted at the Rosalie Jones Administration Center, 335 W. Wilson, Batavia, IL 60510, during regular business hours.
