Gifted & Talented
The purpose of the Gifted and Talented Education service in Batavia Public Schools, District #101, is to identify and serve those students who demonstrate academic excellence beyond that of their chronological peers regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, disability or socioeconomic status.
Academic rigor and depth will be the catalyst for students to engage in relevant research and to develop critical, creative, and higher level thinking skills. In mathematics, problem solving strategies will be a platform upon which the students can begin to understand themselves and the world in which they live. In reading, students will learn how to think critically about the text, beyond the text, and within the author’s craft to infer and analyze themes, characters, settings, and events.
