Telephone User Guide

Place a Call Answer a Call
Pick up the handset, press the Speaker button or press the NewCall softkey. Dial the phone number using the keypad. For internal calls, only the last 4 digits are required. For outbound calls, simply dial the full telephone number, e.g., 1 (630) 555-5656. Pick up the handset, press the Answer softkey or press the Speaker button while the phone is ringing.
Forward Calls (Do Not Disturb) Speaker Mode
To activate: Press CFwdALL, then press the Messages button. The Forward Icon is displayed. To cancel: Press CFwdALL. The Forward Icon will disappear. Press the Speaker button to toggle between hands-free conversation when answering, placing, during or ending a call.
Volume Control Mute a Call
*Ringer – Use the Volume button to adjust the ringer volume up/ down while your phone is idle.
*Handset – Use the Volume button to adjust the earpiece volume up/ down while on an active call. Press the Save softkey to save the adjustment.
*Speaker – Use the Volume button to adjust the speaker volume up/ down while on an active call. Press the Save softkey to save the adjustment
On an active call with the handset or speaker, press the Mute button to mute the microphone. The Mute button will illuminate red when active. To cancel, press the Mute button.

Voicemail Guide

Setup Voicemail (First Use Only) Accessing Voicemail
1. From your assigned phone, press the Messages button; or from any District phone, dial 8999; or from outside the District, dial (630) 937-8999.
2. If prompted, enter your Cisco Unity ID (your extension) followed by # on the keypad.
3. When prompted for your recorded name, state your first and last name, and then press # on the keypad.
4. When prompted, record your personal greeting and then press # on the keypad.
5. When prompted, enter your new 6 digit PIN and press # on the keypad.

3. Enter your password, and press # on the keypad.
Sending a Message Message Playback
While listening to a message, say:
“Send a message” or “Send <urgent or private or urgent and private> message to <name of Connection user>”
After addressing and recording the message, say:
“Send”
“Edit message”
“Cancel”
While listening to a message, say:
“Skip message”
“Repeat message”
“Next message”
“Previous message”
“Save”
“Delete”
“Reply”
“Reply to all”
“Forward”
“Mark new”
“Message properties”
After listening to a message, say:
“Repeat message”
“Call sender”
 Playing Messages Other Commands
While listening to the Main menu, say: “Play messages” (to play all messages)
Or a combination of these options:
“Play new” or “play saved” or “play deleted”
While listening to the Main Menu, say:“Play <greeting name> greeting” “Record <greeting name> greeting” “Turn <on or off> <greeting name>”
“Touchtone conversation” (to switch to using touchtone keys)
 Universal Commands Quick Keys
Say these commands anytime: “Cancel” “Main menu” “Repeat” (to repeat message or prompts) “Goodbye” or “Exit” “Help” (for help with voice commands) Press these keys at anytime to bypass voice commands:
1 – play messages
2 – save message
3 – delete message
