U.S District Court lifts Moment of Silence Injunction

The Illinois State Board of Education informed BPS101  that the U.S. District Court lifted its injunction on the implementation of "The Silent Reflection and Student Prayer Act." This means each public school is once again required to observe a brief moment of silence at the opening of every school day. This moment is meant to provide an opportunity for silent reflection on the day. This change will be minor as schools had already developed procedures to comply with the previous mandate. The district will simply reinstate the practice of including a moment of silence during the morning announcements.
