Stop the Flu: Resources

Greetings,

The 2009-2010 flu season has begun, and this season there are two types of flu affecting residents in Kane County: H1N1 (Swine flu) and the seasonal flu. With two different types of flu circulating, it is critical that everyone in Kane County know and understand how to prevent, treat and contain both types of flu.

That is why, today, the Kane County Health Department is launching: “Stop the Flu: It Starts with You.” www.kanehealth.com/stop_flu.htm

“Stop the Flu: It Starts with You” is aimed at empowering Kane County residents with the information and tools to make the best decisions about flu prevention for themselves and their children.

We know your role in flu prevention is key because residents come to you looking for information. We also know that when information, particularly regarding H1N1 vaccines, is being updated, you should be the first to know.

To ensure that you have the best tools to communicate with Kane County residents and up-to-date information on flu prevention, visit our new “Stop the Flu: It Starts with You” (link to http://kanehealth.com/stop_flu.htm) web page at www.kanehealth.com.

This page (http://kanehealth.com/stop_flu.htm ) has all of the resources you need to keep parents and patients informed, find updated vaccine information, and more.

Whether you are a doctor (http://www.kanehealth.com/providers_h1n1.htm), a teacher (http://www.kanehealth.com/education_childcare.htm)  or a parent (http://www.kanehealth.com/parents.htm), the page has communication tools specifically to meet your needs.

We will be continuously updating the page with new information as it becomes available and sending out weekly e-mail updates with important prevention information, new resources, and vaccine dates and locations as they become available.

Our goal is ensure you have the information and resources you need to communicate with residents on prevention, containment, and treatment of H1N1 (Swine) flu and seasonal flu. Please call or e-mail us at health@kanehealth.com if we can offer any additional assistance.

Thank you for all you do to keep residents in Kane County healthy.
